The martyrs commemorated today are Carpus, Papylus, and Agathonica. The first reading is from the 1st epistle to the Thessalonians Chapter 1; verse 1 through 5. The second reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Chapter 9; verse 18 through 22.
