News Update

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I just thought I would post an update on how the podcast is developing. First, I want to apologize for not posting any readings the last few days. The fact of the matter is I have been working and communicating with lots of people and things have been shaping up in a fantastic way.

I am in the process of officially getting permission from the Metropolitan Cantor Institute to use all of their audio material in the future as well as some of their publications.

The support I have been getting from my parish has been phenomenal. Adam and Linsey Kemner have been on the phone with me constantly making good suggestions and keeping the flame alive. Joseph Heald has been a great support as well. You will get to hear him on future recordings.

Secondly, I have been talking to Sister Loretta at the Eparchy of Parma. I want to humbly thank her for her prayers and sharing the vision for this project.

Third, I have had the privileged opportunity of talking with Professor J. Michael Thompson and I have asked him to direct me in this endeavor as if it where his. Almost all of the music was written and directed by him.

Lastly, I want to extend a personal thanks to Darlene Fayka at the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, PA for being a leader on this project and so lovingly showing me the way.

Last but not least I want to thank you the listener. It is my understanding that the readings for 08/24/08 had 147 downloads. THIS IS INCREDIBLE!
To everyone and anyone reading this, don't ever underestimate how the Holy Spirit is going to use you. So far this has been the greatest lesson to me.

ALL GLORY, HONOR, AND WORSHIP TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!

-The knucklehead Brian

A note from Brian

Dear Friends,

I want to thank each and every one of my subscribers, for listening and helping me make this first week this project a success. It is my hope that this podcast can be something that can help enrich all of our lives as we journey together through liturgical calendar.

As I have been learning how to make this program through trial and error, there have been some small improvements. However, there is much room for more. I just thought I would take a few minutes to share them with you in hope that this may start some nice conversation on my blog.

First, I plan on including a brief summery of the Saint or Martyr commemorated each day.

Secondly, In the coming weeks I will acquire some authentic Byzantine Music to mix into the program to give a more Eastern Catholic flavor to what you hear.

And Third, I am exploring the possibility of include those prayer’s that are common for anyone’s daily rule of prayer. For example, The Trisagion or beginning prayers, Psalm 50, The Nicene Creed, the Trisagion and Kontakion for each day sung in plain chant.

These are just a few things that I have thought of to improve your listening experience. Now I need your help. I humbly encourage everyone listening to provide some input.
You can do so by visit my blog at brianskc.blogspot.com and share with me what you would like to hear on this podcast. You can also click on my email address if you would like to share your ideas with me privately.

Again I would like to thank you for making this first week a great start, and express my gratitude for your input ahead of time. May God grant you many happy, Holy, and blessed years.
