The martyrs commemorated today are Marcian and Martyrius. The first reading is from the 2nd Epistle of St. Paul to the Corinthians Chapter 11; verse 1 through 6. The second reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Chapter 8; verse 16 through 21.
