The martyrs commemorated today are Sergius and Bacchus. The first reading is from the epistle of St. Paul to the Colossians Chapter 2; verse 20 to Chapter 3; verse 3. The second reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Chapter 8; verse 1 through 3.
