The martyrs commemorated today are Theopemptus and Theonas. The first reading is from the 1st epistle of St. Paul to the Corinthians Chapter 9; verse 19 through 27. The second reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Chapter 3; verse 1 through 18.
