The martyrs commemorated today are Galaction and Episteme. The first reading is from the 1st epistle of St. Paul to Timothy Chapter 1; verse 18 through 20 and Chapter 2 verse 8 through 15. The second reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Chapter 12; verse 48 through 59.
