The martyr commemorated today is the venerable Alypius the Stylite. The first reading is from epistle of St. Paul to the Hebrews Chapter 5; verse 11 to Chapter 6; verse 8. The second reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Chapter 20; verse 1 through 8.
