NEWS UPDATE: You can now listen and pray with me via your Mobile Internet Device!!!
GLORY TO JESUS CHRIST!
Dear Friends,
Last Wednesday, I was one of those fortunate individuals to receive the New T-Mobile G1 telephone. It is the newest product in smart phone technology. This type of device is becoming more and more common place and is a fast growing industry. A popular example would be the Apple iPhone that everyone is talking about.
I added a feature to the blog where you can access this podcast via your PDA, smart phone, or mobile internet device. You are no longer tied down to only listening to this podcast via the Apple iPod or on your PC.
HOW TO GET ACCESS
It is really easy! Just open this blog on the internet browser of your device and click on the link right below the flash player called “MP3 File” and your phone will automatically start streaming the episode you want to listen to. Some devises may allow you to use the Flash Player already on the blog.
I am really excited about it because of the growing number of people out there using Mobile Internet Devices. In turn, this should broaden the reach of this podcast. If anyone has any questions please send me an email at biggerstaff.brian@gmail.com.

News Update
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I just thought I would post an update on how the podcast is developing. First, I want to apologize for not posting any readings the last few days. The fact of the matter is I have been working and communicating with lots of people and things have been shaping up in a fantastic way.
I am in the process of officially getting permission from the Metropolitan Cantor Institute to use all of their audio material in the future as well as some of their publications.
The support I have been getting from my parish has been phenomenal. Adam and Linsey Kemner have been on the phone with me constantly making good suggestions and keeping the flame alive. Joseph Heald has been a great support as well. You will get to hear him on future recordings.
Secondly, I have been talking to Sister Loretta at the Eparchy of Parma. I want to humbly thank her for her prayers and sharing the vision for this project.
Third, I have had the privileged opportunity of talking with Professor J. Michael Thompson and I have asked him to direct me in this endeavor as if it where his. Almost all of the music was written and directed by him.
Lastly, I want to extend a personal thanks to Darlene Fayka at the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, PA for being a leader on this project and so lovingly showing me the way.
Last but not least I want to thank you the listener. It is my understanding that the readings for 08/24/08 had 147 downloads. THIS IS INCREDIBLE!
To everyone and anyone reading this, don't ever underestimate how the Holy Spirit is going to use you. So far this has been the greatest lesson to me.
ALL GLORY, HONOR, AND WORSHIP TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!

A note from Brian
Dear Friends,
I want to thank each and every one of my subscribers, for listening and helping me make this first week this project a success. It is my hope that this podcast can be something that can help enrich all of our lives as we journey together through liturgical calendar.
As I have been learning how to make this program through trial and error, there have been some small improvements. However, there is much room for more. I just thought I would take a few minutes to share them with you in hope that this may start some nice conversation on my blog.
First, I plan on including a brief summery of the Saint or Martyr commemorated each day.
Secondly, In the coming weeks I will acquire some authentic Byzantine Music to mix into the program to give a more Eastern Catholic flavor to what you hear.
And Third, I am exploring the possibility of include those prayer’s that are common for anyone’s daily rule of prayer. For example, The Trisagion or beginning prayers, Psalm 50, The Nicene Creed, the Trisagion and Kontakion for each day sung in plain chant.
These are just a few things that I have thought of to improve your listening experience. Now I need your help. I humbly encourage everyone listening to provide some input.
You can do so by visit my blog at brianskc.blogspot.com and share with me what you would like to hear on this podcast. You can also click on my email address if you would like to share your ideas with me privately.
Again I would like to thank you for making this first week a great start, and express my gratitude for your input ahead of time. May God grant you many happy, Holy, and blessed years.

Introduction
Dear Friends,
After a few years of sitting on this project. Something happened. I came to the logical conclusion that there are many Byzantine Catholics, just like myself, that are so busy that it is difficult to find time to sit down alone or with family and prayerfully read the scripture readings that are a part of our liturgical calendar.
Along with a fervent love for Jesus Christ I want to be the first guy in my jurisdiction (Byzantine-Ruthenian) to put out a podcast to fulfill this need and stick to it. After much brainstorming in front of my computer, and recording over and over I have finally done it.
This podcast is still at its beginning stages. It will go through changes and it will grow. However it won’t do that with out your input. I humbly invite all who are listening to email me and let me know what you think and what I can change, do, or not do in order to make this a podcast that your entire family can enjoy.
ABOUT THE PODCAST. So far I must admit that I have used some pretty sparton methods in putting the podcast together. I am using a software called Audacity that allows me to mix different tracks together and has many tools to (try) and clean up the sound a bit. Also I am using the Douy Rhiems translation of the bible that has no restrictions on reproduction because it is a translation that is almost 500 years old, further the book that I am reading from is 97 years old. So please forgive me if I stumble on a word or two. The music that you hears is from the artist Seraphic Panoply. He publishes podcast free music loops specifically for knuckleheads like myself.
A MANY THANKS TO Brad Wilson, the founder of this podcast for his support and trusting me with grabbing a hold of the reins. I would also like thank Fr. Stephen Muth and Fr. Deacon Nicholas for their continuous support and encouragement with this project. Last but not least I would like to thank our most Blessed and Glorious Lady the Theotokos and ever Virgin Mary for her constant care and intercession through out my whole life to the present day.
Yours in IC XC,
